Description
Kairatune by Futucraft is a monophonic software synthesizer built for crisp, tight electronic sounds. It specializes in punchy bass lines, cutting leads, and shimmering SFX, making it a focused tool rather than an all-in-one synth.
The multi-oscillator engine generates five waveforms from a single fundamental signal using a technique that prevents the beating artifacts common in detuned unison setups. This keeps the low end rock-solid while the overtone spectrum stays full and vivid.
The interface is built around musical concepts like pitch, intervals, and beats rather than raw frequency and time values. Tempo-synced envelopes and modulators add rhythmic movement, while the spread and spatial modulation controls shape the stereo image.
Kairatune also includes HPF and BPF delay units, a phaser, and an EQ section for further sound shaping. The plugin ships with over 250 factory presets and supports MIDI learn for hardware control integration.
Version 1.3.0 added vector-based UI scaling for sharp rendering on any display, improved parameter automation handling for better DAW integration, and enhanced preset import/export stability. It is available as VST (64-bit) on Windows and as VST and Audio Unit on macOS.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Kairatune monophonic or polyphonic?
Kairatune is strictly monophonic, meaning it plays one note at a time. This is by design, as the developer optimized the oscillator engine specifically for single-voice bass and lead sounds. If you need polyphonic pads, you would need a different synth.
What plugin formats does Kairatune support?
On Windows, Kairatune is available as a 64-bit VST plugin. On macOS, it ships as both VST and Audio Unit. The current version (1.3.0) dropped 32-bit support in favor of improved 64-bit performance and UI scaling.
How CPU-intensive is Kairatune?
Kairatune can be demanding on older hardware, with some users reporting high CPU usage when running multiple instances. On modern machines this is less of an issue, but rendering tracks to audio is recommended if you need many instances in a single project.
Can I import custom presets into Kairatune?
Yes. Kairatune supports importing single preset files (.ktpreset) and preset bank files (.ktbank) through the configuration menu. You can also import FXP preset files from earlier versions. Presets can be exported and shared between instances as well.
