Description
LFX-1310 is a multi-effect plugin from Sonic Cat (formerly LUXONIX) that packs 24 effect algorithms into a single lightweight interface with three serial-routed processing slots. Derived from the effects engine of the Ravity-S and Ravity-R synthesizers, it covers filters, dynamics, distortion, modulation, delay, and reverb in one compact package.
The 24 algorithms span seven categories: resonant filters and 3-band EQ for tonal shaping, peak and RMS compressors for dynamics control, overdrive and amp distortion plus a bitcrusher for grit, chorus through auto-pan for modulation, three delay modes including ping-pong, and four reverb types from tight gate to expansive hall. Each slot can load any algorithm, and you reorder the chain to taste.
All processing runs at 32-bit with a Fully Optimized Effecting Module design that keeps CPU usage minimal even when all three slots are active. The Hyper Layered MIDI Assign System lets you map any parameter to MIDI controllers for hands-on tweaking during performance or recording.
Users widely praise the plugin for its straightforward workflow and surprisingly good sound quality given its age, with the plate and spring reverbs drawing particular acclaim. It won the KVR Members New Year Survey for Best Free Effect in 2005 and remains a go-to recommendation in production forums nearly two decades later.
The plugin ships with 128 factory presets covering a range of creative multi-effect chains, from subtle mix processing to dramatic sound design combinations. It supports VST 2.3 and Audio Units 2 on both Windows and macOS in 32-bit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is LFX-1310 available in 64-bit?
No, LFX-1310 is a 32-bit only plugin for both Windows and macOS. To use it in a modern 64-bit DAW, you will need a bit-bridge wrapper such as jBridge (Windows) or 32 Lives (macOS) to load it successfully.
Can you reorder the effects chain in LFX-1310?
Yes. LFX-1310 has three serial-routed slots, and you can load any of the 24 algorithms into any slot. This lets you place effects in whatever order sounds best for your particular use case.
What happened to LUXONIX? Is LFX-1310 still supported?
LUXONIX rebranded to Sonic Cat Inc. The LFX-1310 is still available for download from the official Sonic Cat website at sonic-cat.com. However, the plugin has not received feature updates in several years and remains at version 1.4.
How many instances of LFX-1310 can you run simultaneously?
The plugin is extremely lightweight thanks to its Fully Optimized Effecting Module design. Users report running multiple instances without noticeable CPU impact, making it practical to use on several tracks in a single session.
