Description
MRatio is a utility effect from MeldaProduction for crossfading a track's main input with its sidechain input. Rather than behaving like a conventional compressor, it blends the two signals through one of eight crossfade modes, making it useful for signal exchange, rhythmic transitions, and experimental routing inside a DAW.
Two internal modulators can animate parameters from LFOs, level following, MIDI- or audio-triggered envelopes, randomization, and pitch detection. They can also listen to the sidechain, so the blend can respond to another track instead of remaining a fixed manual setting.
MRatio includes A/B comparison slots, preset management, MIDI learn, automatic gain compensation, and a safety limiter. Its metering can show input, output, stereo width, loudness, waveforms, bands, gain reduction, and sidechain activity, which helps make unconventional routing easier to inspect.
For channel work, it supports mono and stereo audio, mid/side processing, independent left and right or mid and side channels, surround up to eight channels, and higher-order ambisonics. The current developer requirements list 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and macOS 10.14 Mojave or newer, with VST, VST3, AU, and AAX host support as appropriate.
