Description

Purrigee is a drone reverb by Cat Psychedelia that turns a played chord into a lingering atmospheric layer. Its large TIDE control takes the effect from an unchanged dry signal to deeper reverb, while keeping the dry signal at full level above the midpoint.

Switch on HOVER to hold the reverb as you play and gradually add new notes to the older, thinning layer. When you stop, the sound remains briefly and then fades over roughly twice the decay time; switch HOVER off for conventional reverb behavior.

The 24 presets span four families: DUSK supplies short spaces, HALO offers medium glowing tails, PERIGEE focuses on dark drones, and LUNACY adds slow pitch movement. These starting points make it easy to explore everything from a little depth on a guitar to a long backdrop for a synth or piano.

A tweak panel provides decay, tone, octave-up shimmer and hold controls for shaping the result. Input and output gain, a resizable interface, and click-free preset transitions round out the streamlined workflow.

Purrigee is available for $0 with an optional tip through the developer's Gumroad page. It runs as AU and VST3 on macOS 11 or later and as a 64-bit VST3 on Windows 10 or 11; the developer also supplies English and Japanese manuals.

Can Purrigee work as a regular reverb?

Yes. Turn HOVER off to use its conventional reverb behavior, and choose from short to long preset starting points.

Which formats and systems are supported?

The developer lists AU and VST3 for macOS 11 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel. Windows 10 and 11 are supported in 64-bit VST3 format.

Can I use Purrigee in commercial music?

Yes. The developer says music made with Purrigee can be used commercially without credit.
