Description
AnyAmpIR is a lightweight guitar and bass cabinet impulse response loader built by Michael Mon of GAS Therapy. It strips away the complexity of traditional amp simulators, giving you a streamlined way to batch-load IR files and scroll through your entire collection with a single knob.
The plugin recognizes popular guitar amp names in IR filenames and dynamically updates its GUI to match the captured cabinet style. Load an IR with "Marshall" in the name and the interface transforms to resemble a Marshall amp, adding a visual connection to the tone you are dialing in.
At just 7 MB, AnyAmpIR is engineered for minimal CPU, RAM, and storage impact, making it practical for large sessions where every resource counts. It supports WAV, MP3, and AIF impulse response files and handles them cleanly without duplicating data to your drive.
The philosophy behind AnyAmpIR is that an amp's distortion can be replicated with any overdrive or distortion pedal paired with the right IR. This approach lets you build a complete amp rig from a distortion plugin plus AnyAmpIR, bypassing heavyweight amp sims entirely.
Available as VST3 and AU on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, as well as 64-bit Windows, AnyAmpIR also offers drag-and-drop IR loading and native DAW preset management for a frictionless workflow.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does AnyAmpIR include any built-in impulse responses?
AnyAmpIR does not ship with built-in IRs. You bring your own collection of WAV, MP3, or AIF impulse response files. Studio-quality IR files are widely available for download across the web, and you can also capture your own.
Can I use AnyAmpIR with distortion and overdrive plugins to replace a full amp sim?
Yes, that is the intended workflow. Place any overdrive or distortion plugin before AnyAmpIR in your signal chain to handle the gain stage, then let AnyAmpIR provide the cabinet and microphone character through the loaded IR. This combination can closely replicate a full amp rig.
How does the automatic GUI change work?
AnyAmpIR scans the filename of each loaded IR for terms matching popular guitar amp brands like Marshall, Fender, or Mesa. When it finds a match, the plugin interface automatically updates its visual appearance to resemble that amp style, giving you a quick visual reference for the tone you are using.
Does AnyAmpIR support AAX format for Pro Tools?
No, AnyAmpIR is available as VST3 and AU only. It does not currently offer AAX support, so Pro Tools users would need to use a plugin wrapper or bridge to run it.
