Key Features

  • Splits incoming audio into attack and release sections for independent dynamics shaping
  • Low shelf at 120 Hz and high shelf at 8 kHz on each processing section
  • Auto-gain compression with automatic attack and release timing for quick level control
  • Saturation stage with auto-gain for adding harmonic weight to either side of the signal
  • Separate volume controls plus a global Mix knob for parallel-style blending
  • Master output control for gain staging after the transient and release paths are recombined
  • Resizable interface scales from 50% to 200% using the bottom-right handle

Description

ATTRACTOR is a dynamics plugin from Analog Obsession built around separate attack and release processing. Instead of treating the input as one full-band signal, it splits the transient and sustain-style portions so each side can be shaped with its own tone, compression, saturation, volume, and blend controls.

That layout makes it more flexible than a basic transient designer. You can add snap to drums, thicken the body of a loop, smooth aggressive releases, or drive one side harder with saturation while keeping the other cleaner.

The control set stays direct: low and high shelves, auto-gain compression, saturation, per-section volume, a global mix knob, and master output. The official release notes also call out that there is no oversampling, so the saturation stages are best used with the same level discipline you would apply to other lightweight non-linear processors.

Use it when you want fast attack/release tone shaping without opening a full multiband dynamics suite. The resizable interface and direct macOS and Windows installers make it easy to drop into everyday mixing sessions for drums, percussion, bass, guitars, vocals, or whole loops.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is ATTRACTOR different from a normal transient shaper?

A typical transient shaper mainly raises or lowers attack and sustain. ATTRACTOR goes further by giving the attack and release sections their own EQ, compression, saturation, volume, and blend controls, so it behaves more like a compact split-path dynamics processor.

Does ATTRACTOR use oversampling?

No. The official release notes explicitly state that there is no oversampling, which matters because the plugin includes saturation and compression stages. Keep input and output levels under control if you are pushing the saturation hard.

What sources does ATTRACTOR work best on?

It is most obvious on drums, percussion, loops, bass, and plucked instruments where attack and body can be shaped separately. It can also work on vocals or guitars when you want to control front-edge presence and release density independently.

Why are there two Windows downloads?

Analog Obsession provides both a Windows installer and a Windows zip. The installer is the simplest route for most users, while the zip is useful for manual plugin-folder installation.
