Description
DReverb is a Stone Voices algorithmic reverb plugin based on a modified Dattorro design. The current developer page lists DReverb 2.2 as the active release, with low CPU use, double-precision processing, and reverb times that can stretch up to 100 seconds.
The plugin is built for more than short room ambience. Long decay settings, diffusion, width, damping, lo-cut and hi-cut filtering, modulation, pre-delay, and wet-only operation make it useful for pads, drones, vocals, synths, and sound-design tails that need to bloom without swallowing the dry signal.
Version 2 added a refreshed resizable vector interface and a Freeze function for holding the reverb tail indefinitely. The later 2.2 update focused on performance and reliability fixes, including smoother pre-delay behavior and fixes around automation, meters, and Mac host crashes.
User feedback around DReverb is unusually strong for a compact freeware reverb. KVR reviewers praise its lush and organic character, while the source coverage highlights the 32 factory presets, low processor hit, and familiar five-section control layout as the main reasons it remains practical in everyday sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What changed after the original DReverb release?
The 2.x line added a refreshed resizable interface, Freeze mode, wet-only operation, and preset-management improvements. The current 2.2 developer page lists the same core algorithmic reverb concept with additional fixes and performance refinements.
Is DReverb better for natural rooms or ambient effects?
It can handle normal reverb duties, but the wide 0.1 to 100 second decay range makes it especially strong for large spaces, drones, pads, and cinematic tails. KVR user feedback repeatedly points to lush, organic, and spacious results.
What does Freeze mode do?
Freeze captures and sustains the current reverb tail so it can continue as a held texture. BPB notes that the mode can also block new input to the reverb while leaving only the frozen output.
Why does SSA use one download button when Stone Voices lists separate files?
New SSA product entries point to the verified official product page rather than mirroring platform-specific ZIP files. The Stone Voices page owns the current Windows and macOS download choices and version history.
