Description
ENS-86 is Hivetune's vintage chorus effect for adding the warm, gently unstable movement associated with classic bucket-brigade-device circuits. It takes inspiration from the chorus sections of 1980s polyphonic synths, but replaces their fixed buttons with controls for setting the effect to suit a specific part.
Speed and Intensity set the modulation character, while LFO Phase changes the relationship between the left and right channels. That makes ENS-86 useful for a restrained thickening pass as well as more animated stereo motion.
Its Mid/Side width engine works independently of the modulation, so you can narrow the effect toward mono or extend it up to 200% wide while using separate Dry and Wet gain controls for a parallel blend or wet-only vibrato-style sound.
A preset manager includes hardware-inspired I, II, and I+II starting points and can store custom setups. Hivetune currently lists the fully featured ENS-86 edition as Free, with classic factory presets; the separately priced $4.99 Complete Edition adds 20+ presets and bonus GUI skins.
The official Get it route opens Hivetune's Lemon Squeezy checkout and says that users will be subscribed to its newsletter.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of chorus does ENS-86 emulate?
ENS-86 is designed around the warm modulation associated with analog bucket-brigade-device chorus circuits. Hivetune specifically cites the chorus sections in classic 1980s polyphonic synthesizers as its inspiration.
Can ENS-86 do more than a fixed vintage chorus setting?
Yes. Speed and Intensity adjust the modulation, and LFO Phase changes how the left and right channels relate. Its Mid/Side width control is separate from the modulation, so stereo spread can be shaped independently.
Can ENS-86 be used as a vibrato effect?
Yes. The plugin has independent Dry and Wet gain controls, so reducing the dry signal and emphasizing the wet signal can create a vibrato-style result. Leaving both present supports normal chorus or parallel blending instead.
What does the Free ENS-86 edition include?
Hivetune describes the Free ENS-86 edition as fully featured and supplied with classic factory presets. The separate $4.99 Complete Edition adds more than 20 presets and bonus GUI skins rather than unlocking the main effect controls.
Which systems and plugin formats does ENS-86 support?
Hivetune lists Windows 10 or later, 64-bit, with VST3 and a standalone app. For macOS it lists macOS 11 Big Sur or later on Apple Silicon or Intel, with VST3, AU, and a standalone app.
