Description
LoQuest is a sample-based lo-fi instrument plugin from Audiolatry for quick atmospheric parts in Windows and macOS DAWs. It focuses on ready-to-play keys, pads, plucks, strings, organs, flutes, guitars, and other textured presets rather than deep synthesis or layered sound design.
The current official version expands the original 22-preset release to 33 expressive presets aimed at lo-fi, ambient, retro, chillhop, and cinematic writing. Each sound is meant to provide instant vintage character, so it works best when you need a dusty chord bed, simple melodic hook, or moody background layer without building a patch from scratch.
The control set follows a straightforward ROMpler layout with ADSR envelope shaping, an LFO modulation section, filter cutoff and mode selection, poly/mono switching, glide, velocity response, pan, and gain. Built-in chorus, distortion, delay, and reverb add enough movement and space to sketch parts without loading a separate effects chain.
As checked on May 8, 2026, the official Gumroad listing is published, in stock, and priced at USD 0 with optional pay-what-you-want support. All included sounds are royalty-free, and the plugin supports VST3 on Windows plus VST3 and AU on macOS.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many presets does LoQuest include now?
The original BPB lead covered the 22-preset launch version, but Audiolatry has since updated LoQuest with 11 more presets. The current official page and Gumroad listing both state that LoQuest now includes 33 total presets.
Is LoQuest a synthesizer or a sample-based instrument?
LoQuest is sample-based. That means each preset is built around recorded source material, so it is stronger for fast preset-based writing than for building sounds from oscillators or complex modulation routings.
What kinds of sounds are included?
Audiolatry lists keys, pads, flutes, guitars, strings, organs, and more, while BPB also notes keys, organs, warm pads, plucks, and ambient strings. The overall palette leans toward dusty, atmospheric, and vintage-inspired melodic textures.
Why does SoundShockAudio link to Gumroad instead of hosting the file?
The official download flow is a Gumroad PWYW checkout where users enter an email and can type 0 in the price field. Because the archive is gated behind that checkout step, this entry links to the specific Gumroad product page.
