Mey IVY
Key Features
- Puts eight independently voiced sequencer tracks inside one 16-voice synth, letting a kit behave like a compact electronic instrument
- Combines four oscillators, a sub, noise, sampling, dual filters, envelopes, LFOs, and a 12-slot matrix for broad sound-design range
- Lets every sequencer step hold chords, timing offsets, conditions, retriggers, and up to 48 locked parameter values
- Supports different track lengths and resolutions, making polymetric patterns possible without routing several plug-ins
- Includes 238 factory sounds across 19 categories, with many full kits and prepared patterns for a fast starting point
- Shares chorus, EQ with drive, reverb, and dual delay across the instrument for cohesive kit-level processing
Description
Mey IVY is a 16-voice software polysynth built around an eight-track sequencer, so it can function as a compact pattern-writing instrument instead of a synth followed by a separate MIDI device. Each track has its own complete sound, while the voices, chorus, EQ, reverb, and dual delay are shared across the kit.
The synth engine combines four oscillators in two syncable pairs with a sub, noise source, sampler, two filters, three envelopes, two LFOs, and a 12-slot modulation matrix. Its 238 factory sounds span 19 categories, including complete kits with sounds assigned across tracks and patterns ready to play.
Sequencing is unusually deep for an instrument plug-in: tracks can run at different lengths and resolutions, with up to 128 steps each. A step can carry four notes, probability and repeat behavior, micro-timing, and up to 48 parameter locks, making it practical to build evolving drum, bass, and melodic patterns inside one patch.
IVY is available as a first public release for macOS and Windows, with VST3, Audio Unit, and standalone versions. The MEY page provides direct platform-specific installer buttons and states that no account is required.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Mey IVY a synth or a sequencer?
It is both in one instrument. IVY has eight sequencer tracks, and each track carries its own complete synth sound while drawing from the same 16 voices and shared effects section.
How detailed can Mey IVY patterns be?
Each track supports up to 128 steps and can use its own length and resolution. A step can contain up to four notes, velocity, length, slide, accent, conditions, micro-timing, retrig behavior, and up to 48 parameter locks.
Can Mey IVY make more than standard synth sequences?
Yes. Its tracks can run at differing lengths, so their cycles can form polymetric patterns. The factory bank also includes sounds and full kits for pads, basses, techno, house, acid, electro, FM, drums, and percussion.
How is Mey IVY installed?
MEY provides separate installer buttons for macOS and Windows on the product page. The macOS installer places the VST3, Audio Unit, and standalone application in their normal locations, while the Windows installer adds the VST3 and standalone version.
