Description
Relic is a collection of twelve individual mixing plugins from RiverFlux Audio, bringing together five compressors, five equalizers and two tape machines inspired by classic studio equipment. You can load each unit separately on a track or combine them in your DAW to build a processing chain.
The compressor lineup covers optical, tube optical, VCA, FET and stereo vari-mu designs, giving you several approaches to leveling and limiting. The EQ selection includes a preamp EQ, three-band proportional-Q EQ, ten-band graphic EQ, program equalizer and mid-range equalizer for different kinds of tonal shaping.
The two tape plugins provide multitrack and mastering-recorder approaches, with four tape stocks and selectable speeds. Live VU needles, gain-reduction meters and moving reels make the interfaces respond to the signal rather than functioning as static equipment illustrations.
Every unit includes 33 factory presets, A/B comparison, copy and paste, Delta listening and up to 8x oversampling. The compressors also provide external sidechain support, and the included manual explains the controls of each processor.
Relic is offered through the developer's Gumroad store as a name-your-price bundle with a zero minimum and optional donations. It is aimed at producers who want a coordinated set of vintage-style dynamics, tone and tape tools without replacing their existing DAW workflow.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Relic one rack plugin or twelve separate plugins?
Relic contains twelve separate plugins, rather than a single rack that requires all processors to run together. Load the units you need as individual inserts and arrange your own chain in your DAW.
What kinds of compressor and EQ are included?
The five compressors cover optical, tube optical, VCA, FET and stereo vari-mu designs. The five equalizers provide preamp EQ, proportional-Q three-band EQ, ten-band graphic EQ, program EQ and mid-range EQ workflows.
What options do the tape machines provide?
Relic includes a multitrack tape deck and a mastering tape recorder. The developer lists four tape stocks, 250, 456, 900 and GP9, and speeds of 7.5, 15 and 30 ips.
Does the bundle include presets and a manual?
Each of the twelve plugins includes 33 factory presets covering sources such as vocals, drums, bass, guitars, keys and mix buses. A full user manual includes a page for every unit and explains each control.
