Key Features

  • Combines filtering, four-band EQ, compression, gate/expander processing, drive, and output management in one channel-strip insert.
  • Brown and Black EQ curve options provide two tonal-shaping approaches across the four bands.
  • High-pass and low-pass filters can shape the audio path or control what reaches the dynamics sidechain.
  • The compressor supplies Ratio, Threshold, Release, and a fast-attack option for quick channel-level control.
  • A separate three-mode gate/expander helps reduce lower-level spill, noise, or gaps between notes and hits.
  • Line-input drive, polarity flip, output trim, and fader controls support gain staging around the processing sections.
  • Presets, A/B comparison, Delta listening, dry/wet Mix, and 2x, 4x, and 8x oversampling support fast auditioning and parallel treatment.

Description

RF-E is RiverFlux Audio's console-style channel strip, supplied as the thirteenth processor in the Relic collection. It puts filters, four-band EQ, compression, gate/expander processing, input drive, polarity, and output controls in one insert for shaping an individual mix channel without opening several separate plug-ins.

High-pass and low-pass filters handle broad cleanup, while the four-band equalizer offers Brown and Black curve choices. The filters and EQ can be placed before the dynamics path or routed to its sidechain, so low-end energy can be removed from a detector without stripping it from the audible signal.

The compressor provides ratio, threshold, release, and a fast-attack option; its separate gate/expander has three modes for managing quieter material. Line-input drive, phase flip, output trim, and fader controls complete a gain-staged channel workflow, while a Mix control makes parallel treatment possible from the same interface.

RF-E includes presets, A/B comparison, Delta listening, and 2x, 4x, or 8x oversampling. RiverFlux makes it available in the Relic Gumroad download at a zero minimum with optional donations, with VST3 and CLAP on Windows, macOS, and Linux and AU on macOS.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is RF-E a separate download?

RF-E is the thirteenth processor in RiverFlux Audio's Relic collection. The official RiverFlux page links the collection to its dedicated Gumroad product page, where the bundle download is obtained.

Can the EQ and filters affect the dynamics detector?

Yes. RF-E can place the filters and EQ before the dynamics processing path or send them to its sidechain. That can be useful when you want frequency shaping to influence how the compressor or gate reacts, rather than only changing the audible signal.

What does the gate/expander section do?

RF-E has a separate gate/expander with three modes. It is intended to reduce quieter material such as noise or bleed between notes and drum hits while the compressor handles level control.

Does RF-E include parallel-processing controls?

Yes. A Mix control blends processed and dry signal in the plug-in, and the collection also includes A/B comparison and Delta listening. Those controls make it easier to audition more assertive EQ or dynamics settings without losing the original signal completely.
