Key Features

  • Recreates five non-reverb NanoVerb programs: chorus, flange, delay, Non-Linear gated reverb, and rotary speaker.
  • Uses measurements from an original Alesis NanoVerb, including timing, filters, gate lengths, rotor behavior, and the hardware Mix response.
  • True-stereo chorus offsets the sweep speed between left and right channels for width and movement.
  • Delay provides the hardware-style 10 ms steps up to 1.27 seconds, plus fourteen tempo-sync note values with dotted and triplet options.
  • Non-Linear gate ranges from tight 145 ms hits to a 620 ms gated-reverb treatment, while Rotary has distinct fast and slow motion.
  • Custom Rate and Depth options, factory presets, and an effects-send initialization preset extend the one-knob front-panel workflow.
  • Pawn Shop mode introduces deliberately worn-hardware character, including drifting sweeps, control noise, and clock modulation.

Description

The NanoFlux is a multi-effect plug-in from Six Walls that recreates the non-reverb programs of an original Alesis NanoVerb: chorus, flange, delay, Non-Linear gated reverb, and rotary speaker. Each program was measured from the developer's own hardware, so the single Adjust control follows the compact, program-specific approach of the original unit rather than presenting a large effects rack.

Chorus uses independently moving left and right sides for stereo width, while Flange can freeze into a metallic fixed tone at the bottom of its control. The Delay offers the unit's stepped timing or tempo-sync values from 1/32 to 1/1, including dotted and triplet divisions, making it useful for both vintage-style repeats and DAW-synced rhythmic parts.

Non-Linear supplies the short, gated character associated with 1980s snare treatments, and Rotary models a two-speed speaker with quick acceleration and a slower coast-down. Factory presets and an Init – FX Send preset provide quick starting points when the plug-in is placed on an effects channel.

For deliberately less pristine processing, Pawn Shop changes NanoFlux into a worn hardware interpretation with imperfect controls, drifting modulation, an uneven channel, and clock modulation that darkens and stretches the effect. The current v1.0.0 release is supplied for Windows and macOS as VST3, AU, and AAX plug-in formats.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which NanoVerb effects does The NanoFlux model?

The NanoFlux covers the original NanoVerb's chorus, flange, delay, Non-Linear gated-reverb, and rotary programs. It intentionally focuses on that non-reverb side of the hardware rather than attempting to be a complete NanoVerb recreation.

Can the delay follow a DAW project tempo?

Yes. Alongside the hardware-style stepped delay times, the Delay program has Tempo Sync with fourteen note values from 1/32 to 1/1, including dotted and triplet divisions.

What is Pawn Shop mode?

Pawn Shop is a character mode that treats the model as a worn and modified unit. It adds intentionally imperfect behavior such as crackly gain controls, modulation drift, a tired rotary response, and Clock Mod processing that stretches and darkens the audio.

Does NanoFlux include presets for effects sends?

Yes. Six Walls includes factory presets and an Init – FX Send preset intended for use on an effects channel. The plug-in also offers Custom Rate and Depth settings beyond the regular front-panel range.
