Key Features

  • Pre Delay and Delay Time set the gap before and within the feedback loop for quick echo timing control.
  • Tempo Sync offers straight, dotted, and triplet divisions from 1/64 note to four bars.
  • Stereo Spread offsets left and right delay timing to create width and movement in the repeats.
  • A post-feedback multi-mode filter provides low-pass, band-pass, high-pass, and band-reject options with resonance.
  • Selectable 12 and 24 dB/oct filter slopes and op-amp emulation shape the tone of outgoing echoes.
  • Feedback extends to 110% for evolving, self-building trails, while the FX control blends delayed and original signal.
  • MIDI Learn, a preset browser, and several HiDPI interface sizes support faster control and screen fit.

Description

Echolite is a straightforward stereo delay from D16 Group for creating tempo-locked repeats, wider echoes, and basic filtered space without a deep programming workflow. It provides Pre Delay and Delay Time controls for setting the gap before and inside the feedback loop, then lets you use the plug-in on an insert or send channel.

Tempo Sync changes both time controls to musical divisions from 1/64 note to four bars, with straight, dotted, and triplet variations. Stereo Spread offsets the left and right delay channels, so the repeats can move outward without adding a separate stereo-widening processor.

The post filter shapes the sound after the feedback loop with low-pass, band-pass, high-pass, and band-reject modes. Its selectable 12 or 24 dB/oct slopes, resonance, and op-amp emulation make it useful for subdued echoes, narrower bands, or more pronounced filtered trails.

Feedback reaches 110%, allowing repeats to build into increasingly intense trails rather than always decaying. The FX control blends wet and dry signal, while a lock can preserve that balance while presets are changed; MIDI Learn and several HiDPI UI sizes support quicker day-to-day operation.

Echolite is presented by D16 as Free with direct macOS and Windows installers on its individual product page, not a time-limited promotion. It supports VST2, VST3, and AAX on Windows, adding AU on macOS, so a compatible DAW host is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Echolite follow my DAW tempo?

Yes. Enabling Sync changes both Pre Delay and Delay Time to musical divisions from 1/64 note to four bars. Full, dotted, and triplet timing variants are available for each division.

How does Stereo Spread affect Echolite’s repeats?

Stereo Spread introduces a time difference between the left and right delay channels. At 100%, the difference is half of the selected Delay Time; negative and positive settings decide which side arrives first.

Does the filter process every pass through the feedback loop?

No. The post filter processes the signal coming out of the Feedback Loop, so it shapes the outgoing echoes. It offers low-pass, band-pass, high-pass, and band-reject modes, plus 12 or 24 dB/oct slopes and resonance.

What happens above 100% feedback?

Echolite allows Feedback up to 110%, which can make repeats build rather than simply fade. Use this range carefully because the resulting trails can become intense and raise output level.
