Description

QSynthi by Arthur Freye and Jannis Muller is an experimental software synthesizer that turns a quantum-mechanical simulation into playable sound. Instead of starting from a conventional oscillator model, it uses motion inspired by the Schrodinger equation to create tones that shift, bend, and evolve as you change the underlying simulation controls.

The instrument still gives you familiar synth touchpoints, including voice count, glide, amplitude envelope controls, filter shaping, and reverb, so it is not just a science experiment in plugin form. The left side of the interface is where it becomes unusual, with wave, simulation, and potential settings that can behave like animated tone sources, modulators, or unstable texture generators depending on how far you push them.
